Organic Turmeric Root
Turmeric is best known for its potent anti-inflammatory properties. It is becoming more understood that inflammation is the root cause of many disease, both physical and mental. Gut inflammation can hinder our digestion and absorption, leaving us depleted and eventually malnourished, while brain inflammation can increase the onset of depression and dementia.
Turmeric can also offer digestive benefits, such as: enhanced digestion, subdued gut discomfort, bloat, gas, and constipation, and an overall soothing and reparative effect on the intestinal lining. Turmeric has also been shown to help purify our blood, boost immunity, enhance liver and kidney detoxification, decrease the onset and progression of hangovers, stimulate the lymphatic system, and is a well known antioxidant and anti-carcinogenic.
Organic Ginger Root
Ginger’s initial effect on the body is heating and detoxifying, but once it’s metabolized, it’s long term effect on our tissues is more cooling and nourishing, making it suitable for most everyone. Both fresh root and ground ginger offer wonderful benefits- ground ginger is more heating in nature, while ginger root can tend to be more nourishing.
Ginger catches fame for its gut soothing, immune boosting, anti-nausea properties…but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Ginger’s heating nature helps stimulate circulation, purify the blood, increase metabolism and digestion, detox the body, and provide that extra boost of energy we tend to chase all too often.
Organic Tamarind Paste
Tamarind is tropical fruit, native to Africa, that grows in pods similar to peas. Tamarind is sweet ‘n sour in nature, and offers a handful of benefits. This anti-oxidant, nutrient rich fruit helps soothe and regulate the gut, leaving you feeling relieved and ready to take on the day!
Tamarind is rich in fiber, which can aid detoxification and help rid constipation, regulating the system. Tamarind is also helpful at stimulating bile secretion, thus promoting the digestion of fats, and further enhancing digestion. It’s safe to say this anti-inflammatory, antioxidant rich fruit is a gut savior.
Black Peppercorn
Black pepper is a heating, cleansing antioxidant by nature, and is an essential companion to turmeric. Black pepper encourages the absorption of curcumin, turmeric’s active ingredient, by inhibiting the metabolization of curcumin in the Liver. Without black pepper, curcumin is more likely to metabolize into a less beneficial compound for your body while making its journey through the liver.
Filtered Rocky Mountain Water
Water, the most essential element of our existence second to the breath, is the final ingredient that ties Jamu together. Both the turmeric and ginger roots used in Saucha Jamu are soaked in 11.5pH Kangen water to rid all potential pesticide and chemical residue (both water AND oil based). Once clean, Jamu is made with filtered Rocky Mountain Water.

While making Jamu, the turmeric and ginger roots are brought to a boil. This enhances turmeric’s water solubility, helping it to cross our gut lining and get into our body more efficiently.
By incorporating the entire turmeric root, natural oils are preserved that help enhance curcumin absorption.
The incorporation of black pepper helps our body keep and use as much active curcumin as possible.
